Department for Education Coronavirus helpline

On Monday 2nd March 2020, a new helpline has been launched to answer education-related questions about COVID-19. Staff, parents and young people can contact the helpline as follows:

Advice for parents/carers

 

The Prime Minister addressed the nation on coronavirus (COVID-19) and asked people to stay at home, except for very limited purposes.

 

There is no change in guidance for education settings, which remain closed except for the children of critical workers and vulnerable children. We continue to ask that parents keep their children at home, wherever possible.

The best way to protect yourself and others from the virus and stop it spreading is to practice good hygiene habits – if you need to cough or sneeze catch it with a tissue, bin it and kill it by washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using an alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
