EYFS Curriculum

What to expect, when?

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets out the learning and development stages for children as they grow from birth to five years. The guide below is divided into six overlapping age bands, covering your child's first five years. This is because every child is different and children do not develop at the same rate.

Children learn and develop through playing, exploring, being active, creating, and being asked questions to help their thinking.

After each age band there are some examples of ideas and tips which can help you support your children's learning.

Being a parent is very special and you will be amazed watching your child grow and learn. We are also aware that it can have its challenges.

The guide below aims to help you understand how your child is developing whilst reminding you that every child is different. If at any time you have any questions or concerns, please speak to your child's key worker or room lead.
