Year 5 – Mrs Wilkins
Remote Learning
Hello Waitomo class. I've attached this information for you all about how our remote learning is going to work during the national lockdown. Please read it carefully and I look forward to seeing you in our Google Classroom meetings.
Mrs Wilkins
Welcome to our Year 5 Class page - especially to all the children who will be joining my class this year! I'm really looking forward to seeing you all and starting a brand new school year. For many of you, I know that it will have been a long time since you were last in school and things may be a little different from what we're used to, but we will still be doing lots of exciting activities and learning about lots of interesting topics. I can't wait to hear more about what you already know and what you are looking forward to learning more about this year.
Enjoy the last few days of the summer holidays and I look forward to seeing you all and getting to know you next week!

Anti-bullying week (16th November)
This week has been Anti-Bullying week. We talked a lot about how bullying can affect all our lives and how important it is that we work together to stop bullying of all kinds.
We have each made a pledge. This is something we have promised to do to make our school a happier place, to support others who have been affected by bullying and to ensure the choices we make do not hurt other people.
Our Summer Skipping Workshop
As you can see, we all had great fun learning how to improve our skipping techniques.
Our Botanical Illustrations
In our science lessons, we have been learning about the structure and life cycles of flowering plants. We then linked this to our Art learning, which this term has been all about Botanical illustrations. We looked at the work of different Botanical artists and thought carefully about how we can improve our observational drawing skills so that our drawings are accurate, life-like representations.
