Year 4 – Mrs Argrave
Welcome to Marcus Rashford Class
Welcome to Marcus Rashford Class. We have chosen him as our inspirational sports person as he has shown himself to be a very generous and caring man. We are reading his book, 'You are a champion' and the children find his beliefs and feelings very helpful. We particularly enjoyed the part where we learned that everyone's tongues are different, just like our fingerprints!
In English, the children have been having great fun learning, innovating and creating their own version of 'Walking with My Iguana' by Brian Moses.
Some of the children's imaginative poems.
In Maths, the children have been adding 3 digit and 4 digit numbers using the column method and regrouping when the numbers pass through the tens barrier.
Some examples of the children's work.
Topic - Stone Age
In Topic, we have been learning about life in prehistoric times. The children used natural resources to experiment with different methods of dyeing materials.
The children's experiments and results!
As part of our Stone Age topic, we visited Wookey Hole. We had a wonderful day investigating the caves, listening to the ways in which prehistoric people would have lived in them and asking lots of interesting questions.
Our guide told us that we were the best behaved group of children that he had had. Well done, everyone!
