Tom Daley – Mrs Winchester

Platinum Jubilee Party

The children enjoyed a celebratory lunch outside accompanied with 1950 music.  In the afternoon, the children played a range of traditional 1950's games, including tiddlywinks and the card game, 'Old Maid'.

Anne Frank Creative Writing Awards

Maisie and Dylan were shortlisted for the Anne Frank Creative Writing Award for KS2 earlier in the year.  They attended Wells Cathedral on Tuesday 24th May for the awards ceremony where they were both awarded a certificate and prize for being 'highly commended'.  Well done to both of them!

Science - Spring 2

In Science this term, we have been exploring Darwin's Theory of Evolution.  The children investigated the best type of 'beak' to eat different food items.

Interhouse PE - Table Tennis

World Book Day

The children have enjoyed celebrating World Book Day dressing up as an animal, plant or their favourite book character.

Our Wonderful World - Spring 1

The children have produced an excellent display outside of our classroom in the corridor this term with the work we have completed in Geography.

Science - Spring 1

In Science, we have been learning about the different types of microbes which includes viruses, bacteria and fungi.  The children studied different microbes and then had a challenge to design and make their own using plasticine. I'm sure you will agree that some look pretty nasty!

Fyne Court - Autumn 2

The children enjoyed exploring and walking around Fyne Court as part of an English focus around settings.

Somerset Bridge- Autumn 2

As part of our Victorian study and focus on the famous engineer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, we enjoyed a sunny walk along the canal to visit Somerset Bridge.  This is a bridge which he designed and built as part of the Great Western Railway.  Our school is also named after this bridge which the children found fascinating.

Autumn 2 - Science

In Science this term we are learning about circuits and electricity.  The children investigated how to make a bulb and buzzer brighter in pairs.
