We chose to name our class after the scientist James Watson.

James Dewey Watson was an American molecular biologist, geneticist, and zoologist. In 1953, he and Francis Crick co-authored an academic paper in Nature proposing the double helix structure of the DNA molecule.

We celebrate our differences and know that we are each special in our own way - and our DNA helps us to be unique while also connecting us to our family and heritage.

This term we are learning about...

The Victorians

We are investigating life in the Victorian Era. We have learnt about Queen Victoria's reign, new inventions in the era and what work and school life was like. To truly experience this, we had a visitor who did a Victorian School workshop with us - we experienced what life was like for children then! It was very strict!

Fractions

We are learning how to find equivalent fractions. It's really important that we carry on practising our times tables to support us in this learning!

Suspense - Creative Writing

 

We are learning how to add suspense into our writing, using techniques like describing the weather, showing not telling that our characters are scared and using ambiguous language.
