Miss Anderson

Born in a Barn - What a success! Well done, Year 1!

Children In Need - with Y1 and Y3 playtime!

Welcome to Seuss class!

We are starting the year with a bang in Year 1, working through our theme 'Explosions of Colour!' with lots of art and classroom decoration - including painting, drawing and sculpture. We also have a visitor coming in to help us make hats for the Carnival soon!

We have been working hard to get to know each other, learning new names and making new friends - but not forgetting those children who have moved to a different class.

We are continuing to learn phonics, practising the sounds we know and beginning to learn new ones, including how to blend them together!

We have been learning our class story: 'Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy' and are now changing the characters to make the story our own - get ready to hear the tale of 'Fluffy McMuffy from Anderson's Buffet'

We have been consolidating our knowledge of the numbers 0-10 so that we know them really well, and learning new symbols and vocabulary too! Our current challenge is:

< means less than                              > means greater than

Please continue to help your children practise these at home.

We hope you have a very happy time in Seuss class.
