Jesse Owens – Mrs Gray

June 2022

We have been enjoying learning all about our wonderful Queen and had fun at our street party.

'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' story has provided us with lots of learning opportunities. The children especially enjoyed creating a class shop, where they could buy all of the yummy fruits and vegetables which the caterpillar likes to eat. Our hunt for mini-beasts was exciting. I wasn't so keen picking up the spiders but they were fearless!

We had a  wonderful time at our Jubilee Street party!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar and lots of other mini-beasts!

April 2022

We have been enjoying our learning this half term. The sun came out during Science Week, so we had the perfect opportunity to explore the plants growing in our school grounds. We had a lot of fun making and eating our yummy fruit kebabs. The weather has been changing so much that we had plenty of ideas when painting pictures for our weather display. I hope you enjoy all of the photos!

Science Week - Growth

Fruit kebabs

We have had such a busy time since returning to school after Christmas. You can see from our photos that we have made lanterns to celebrate Chinese New Year, been very busy drawing and writing on the interactive whiteboard and enjoyed making bridges with cereal boxes. Some children have even been wearing our Super Sentence Writer cloak for the day, after writing an amazing sentence!

Welcome to Jesse Owens class!

We have had a great first half term at school and settled in well to the daily routines. You will see, from the photographs, that the children are really enjoying being at school. They have taken part in lots of different activities, which are enabling them to learn new skills. I hope you have also enjoyed listening to your children read and complete their homework every week.

Our class have chosen Jesse Owens as their sporting icon, we have learnt about his sporting achievements and we all agree he is the right person to be named after this year!
