Danny MacAskill – Miss Clark
We are Danny MacAskill Class!
Danny MacAskill is a Scottish stunt mountain biker. We chose to name our class after him after watching his inspiring Youtube videos and learning about how he started practising bike tricks on a bike his Dad had found him in a skip!
We liked how Danny MacAskill never gives up and challenges himself.
We think this how we can be successful learners.
This term we have been learning the story of the Three Little Pigs and we described bad fairy tale characters using adjectives.
We are now learning how to be Estate Agents and to sell property such as the pigs' houses and our classroom using adjectives and prespositions in our spoken language and written work. We have really enjoyed our role play telephone conversations and 'viewings' of the classroom.
In Maths we have been learning to use concrete resources such as Hungarian ten frames and counters and Numicon to represent numbers and to add and subtract. Some of us are now also using number lines and recording our calcuations as number sentences using the symbols + = and - and using words such as subtract, minus, plus and add confidently.
In Topic we have been learning about animals; what they eat and how to label different parts of an animal. We are now learning about seasonal changes and the weather.
In Independent Learning we chose between a 1 star,2 star, 3 star or Chilli challenge. We know we need to never give up and to use things like sound mats and our Maths wall to help us move our learning forward and to keep challenging ourselves.
