Welcome to Malala Class!
We have all made an excellent start to Year 6 and have come back to school ready to face any new challenges. This year we are the Malala class after we voted to have Malala Yousafzai as the inspiration for our class name because of the incredible contribution she has made in trying to get more girls around the world to get access to an education. After choosing her, we delivered a presentation to a Year 5 class and here is a picture of us practising.
World War Two.
This term, our Topic is all about WW2 and we are looking at Light and Electricity in Science. Here are some photos of us conducting an experiment to prove that light travels in straight lines.
Word Democracy Day:
We all took part in a debate in class to decide whether we feel that we should come to school on a Saturday morning and so have longer holidays. At the end we voted and decided that actually we thought this was a bad idea! We also chose the final 6 pupils to go through to the School Councillor vote on the 27th September.
Congratulations to Libby, Casey and Caitlin who have been chosen as ambassadors.
European Language Day- 26th September.
Those of us in class that speak a European language at home, shared some basic phrases with the rest of the class before we all had a go. The languages were: Polish, Czech and Spanish.
